Regular Sleep Boosts Memory
Sleep time is the respite that carers look forward to; has a much greater importance for children. The child grows during sleep. The smaller the child, the faster the growth, the greater the need for sleep. Growth will be faster in a child who sleeps regularly. Again, it was revealed that learning is more clear and memory is stronger in these children. In the case of inadequate sleep, the situation is the opposite. Obesity was found to be more frequent in children who could not sleep enough. These children are more likely to eat junk food, drink more calorie drinks, and spend time in front of the television or computer.
Regular Sleep Reduces Hyperactivity and Risk of Depression

Scientific research has shown that regular sleep in preschool children reduces hyperactivity, anxiety and depression. It has also been shown that in a week period, 3-4 days and more sleep (which means at least 11-12 hours sleep per day) is necessary for children. In adolescence, sleep time usually hangs after midnight, and the child begins to settle with little sleep. Depression tendency was found to be higher in children who sleep for 7-7.5 hours per day.
It has been shown that the frequency of depression in these children is 42% higher than children who enter bed before 22.00 at night. While the ideal sleep time is 9 hours during adolescence, many children are content with sleeping 7-7.5 hours.

In this respect, carbohydrate-rich foods (bakery and sugary) should be avoided close to sleep time. Food allergies will also cause itching, asthma and digestive problems and impair sleep quality. Removal of cow's milk from the diet in children with cow's milk allergy improves sleep quality. In addition, food allergies will cause tonsil and nasal flesh growth in children and cause sleep problems. Low intake of calcium, magnesium and B vitamins (especially B6) increases their awakening at night. Caffeinated foods taken before bedtime (abundant in many beverages and chocolates) can cause insomnia due to its stimulating effect.
